New Single on Spotify!! Can’t Take That Away From Me

We’ve released our first single:

For two years we’ve been preparing this for your kind listening ears.

The song is called “They Can’t Take That Away From Me,” and it was a collaboration between Eugene Marie and a dead man.

How is this possible?

Ira Gershwin, poet laureate of Broadway, wrote the lyrics for the musical film Shall We Dance in 1937.

His more famous brother George wrote the melody.

We scrapped George’s melody and kept Ira’s words.

The words that Ira wrote are lovely:

The way you hold your knife,
The way we danced ’til three,
The way you changed my life,
No, no - they can’t take that away from me.

We set his words to our own music.

That is how we collaborated with a dead man.

We’ll release another one for you soon.

With all the love we can muster from our eager little hearts,
Spencer & Lucy
